The Washoe County Chronic Disease Coalition (Coalition) Meeting is a professional development and networking event. Using local data and best practices as a guide, the goal of the first annual Coalition meeting is to strategize how we can come together to make Northern Nevada a healthy and smoke-free destination to live, work and play.
Nicole Chacon has more than 12 years of experience working in tobacco control at the Southern Nevada Health District in Las Vegas, Nevada, focusing specifically on clean indoor air efforts, smoke-free multi-unit housing, smoke-free meeting spaces, and development and implementation of media campaigns to support these efforts. She currently works as an independent contractor, with a special focus on passing a comprehensive smoke-free policy at the local level. Nicole received her Masters degree in Health Promotion and is a Certified Health Education Specialist.
This free event is open to all Coalition members and community partners interested in improving the health of northern Nevadans. This includes, but is not limited to, those working in public health, healthcare, chronic disease prevention and treatment, business, education, government, and non-profits.
It is free to register, however, pre-registration is required. For questions or additional information, please contact the Office of Continuing Medical Education at (775) 784-4791 or Tami Duggan.
